An EU Directive is a legislative act that sets out a goal that all EU countries must achieve.
One such directive is the 2008 Consumer Credit Directive which was adopted on 23 April 2008.
Poland adopted the harmonized provisions of the Consumer Credit Directive and also adopted its own strict legal sanctions if these provisions were abused
HelpFind (“HF”), a Polish compensation company, and CGO Legal, a Polish law firm, established that many loan contracts issued by Polish lenders infringed the national provisions in respect of the calculation of the RRSO (Polish equivalent of APR) and other relevant national provisions and therefore such contracts would be subject to the strict legal sanctions imposed in Poland.
Free Poland and its partners HF and CGO Legal offer consumers the opportunity to sell their claim to Free Poland for a one time payment. Free Poland will purchase such receivables and recover the penalties under the Consumer Credit Directive from the lender
